Teaching safety, marksmanship, and sportsmanship to the next generation of enthusiasts.
HHYM Meets Wednesday evenings at 6pm at the HHRP outdoor range March through October (between daylight savings time). Other dates for matches with other clubs may come up depending on interest.
First meeting (weather dependent): March 12, 2025
Participants 13-21 are welcome. Participants must keep good academic standing; homework should be done before coming to the range.
New shooters may attend up to three practices as guests to see if they like the program, after which they need to become HHRP Youth (or family) members to continue. See our membership page for more info.
Other than membership in the NRA and HHRP there is no cost to participate. Note that some matches or events above the Wednesday practices may have costs associated with them.
Participants are expected to come to all practices and matches. We want this to be a regular thing for them and to give them the best chance to excel.
PARENTS: All participants must have someone stay on site that can bring them to/from events unless they can drive themselves (We are not a babysitting service). All communication with participants under 18 will be through their parent/guardian so make sure your contact info is up to date. If there's room on the line, you're welcome to learn and practice too but please bring your own .22lr rifle and ammo.
We use single-shot or magazine fed rifles chambered in .22lr. Bolt action or semi-auto are allowed but no tube-fed magazines. Scopes or iron sights are allowed but peep sights are ideal.
Participants are welcome to bring their own rifle or we have a couple that have been loaned by HHRP club members for youth participants to practice with until they can get their own rifles.
Ammunition is provided for youth participants. We use CCI Standard Velocity .22long rifle.
You can donate directly by cash or check. This goes directly to our liquid funds to be used on ay to day expenses of the program such as ammo, targets, staples, and other equipment.
You can donate to our Midway Endowment Fund. This fund is held by Midway USA as an investment that earns interest to grow every year to benefit youth programs across the country. Each program has it's own account, Midway takes a small percentage annually to put in a central fund to pay for the management of the accounts while the interest goes back into the club funds. The club can withdraw a portion of the fund each year as a grant to use for the benefit of the program.
As an added bonus, Midway USA will match a portion of donations to the fund increasing the value. For example, in a month with 1:1 matching, if you donate $100, Midway will also donate $100 so the team's endowment account grows by $200!
